Centenary

1921 - 2021

Our Centenary Year ended in November 2022 and what a fun and busy time we had. We produced a 2023 calendar with members' photos which will remind us of it all. A photobook is also being produced for a fuller permanent record.

At our November meeting 2021 we had the first award of the Kay Ballard Memorial Trophy. The challenge set was to design a Logo for our Centenary Year.

There were 15 entries for the competition and this was the winning design entered by Wendy Congrave.

The award was presented to Wendy by Tracy Ballard and the creator of the fused glass award Lesley Willets. This Logo will now be used throughout our Centenary Year.

A banner was made ready to use on our official Tree Planting day 30th November 2021. The winning logo was included as well as the clocktower, a distinctive landmark in Abberley.

The winner of the 2022 competition was Lynne Whitaker with her photo of St Mary's Church Abberley. The winning photo will go on the Abberley WI Centenary Calendar and the commemorative yearbook.
